A native of the United States, Heather (Downie) Furniss received her Bachelor of Science in interior design from FIDER accredited Colorado State University.

With over twenty years experience as a professional interior designer, she is well versed in the process of both commercial and residential interior design.

Prior to starting her own company, Heather worked in corporate design and collaborated on such notable projects as Sun Microsoft, The North Face Headquarters, Lucent Technologies, Dell Webb retirement villages and Holtze Hotel office suites.

In 1999 Heather started HD Interior Design. Since then she has designed commercial projects ranging in size up to 90,000 square meters along with many residential projects ranging in scope from new home construction to various size renovations.

Heather is an associate member of The Designer’s Institute of New Zealand (DINZ).
